Programs and Training

The government has put in place several training opportunities for the youth during the last decade. The objectives were to palliate the skills needed in the labour market and to make the youth work-ready. Several programs have been formulated for the youth, for instance:

(i)  Youth Employment Programme

 In order to acquire sufficient skills and be prepared for the world of work this program is meant for the youth between 16-35 years old who are unemployed.

(ii) Service-To-Mauritius-Programme 

Meant for unemployed graduates and postgraduates who are under 45 years old to beneficiate from work experiences and to share their knowledge.

(iii)  Youth Leadership Training 

It is a programme meant for the youngsters to acquire leadership skills to innovate in their respective organization and in the society.
