Without these skills, they will not be able to successfully participate and adapt in a working environment. Consequently, they won\u2019t be adequately prepared for university level \/ TVET Education and the world of work.<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>Skills that should be developed at school level are as follows:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><strong>Collaboration and teamwork<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Creativity and imagination<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Critical thinking<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Problem solving<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Leadership<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Oral and written communication skills<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Social responsibility and ethics<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Self-confidence<\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>The above mentioned skills are developed at schools through extra curriculum activities as descried below:<\/strong><\/p><p>Extra-curricular activities are activities performed in or off school setting \/ off regular classroom. This can help students meet new people with whom they share interests and improve their social skills as a result. Extracurricular activities also help students to expand their network, which is beneficial for finding career opportunities after graduation.<\/p><p>Various extra-curricular activities are done at secondary schools. There are mandatory activities that should be conducted whereas others are optional from schools to schools. As such they are able to enhance their English writing skills and intellectual skills.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"52\"><p>7<\/p><\/td><td width=\"270\"><p><strong>Global School Enterprise Challenge- Pan-African Award<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><\/td><td width=\"128\"><p>As from Jan 2015<\/p><p>On-going project<\/p><\/td><td width=\"398\"><p>All classes including students opting for business studies &amp; Accounting are called upon to participate in this activity. The theme is: \u201c<em>To teach a man to fish<\/em>\u201d<\/p><p>After consultation from the website, registration of participants is done on-line through schools. The project in line with EE :<\/p><p>\u00ab Entrepreneurship Education \u00bb<\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"52\"><p>8<\/p><\/td><td width=\"270\"><p><strong>Convention on Students\u2019 Quality Control Circles- CSQCC<\/strong><\/p><\/td><td width=\"128\"><p>Jan 2015 &#8211; Nov 2015<\/p><\/td><td width=\"398\"><p>This activity was organized by City Montessori School-Lucknow INDIA in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Human Resources, Tertiary Education and Scientific Research. Students from grade 9 to grade 13 were eligible to participate. This was On-going project on Quality control. Students has the opportunity to go abroad to participate in this project. Ample time was given for all formalities &#8211; the exchange programme and passport \/ visa procedures.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><tr><td width=\"52\"><p>9<\/p><\/td><td width=\"270\"><p><strong>Sports For Life &#8211; Swimming, Aerobic, Zumba, Yoga, Taichi<\/strong><\/p><\/td><td width=\"128\"><p>Feb- May<\/p><\/td><td rowspan=\"2\" width=\"398\"><p>Activities organized by Ministry of Youth and Sports in collaboration with Ministry of Education, HR &amp; SR. This will enhance their personal growth during the adolescence phase and those programmes will help students to understand themselves and their bodies. Resource persons from the befrienders association conduct this program.
